Beautiful Authentic and Charming hotel in Paris. Hotel Plaza Élysées review. Wondering where to stay in Paris on your next trip? While Covid-19 put a dent into traveling this year and staying in some cool hotels, I used this time to staycation right at home. In this blog post, I share my review on the Hotel Plaza Élysées in Paris.

Hotel Plaza Élysées In Paris Review

On a beautiful cold Saturday afternoon in December, we made our way to the Hotel Plaza Elysées located in the 8th arrondissement on the prestigious Boulevard Haussman (named after Baron George Eugene Haussman, the architect commissioned by Napoléon III to modernize Paris in the XIX century). The neighborhood is very quiet and mostly residential which is a plus for those searching for a quiet area to stay in during their trip.

The Hotel Plaza Élysées In Paris Amenities

As a 4* hotel , expect amenities such as:

  • Taxi pick up from the airport or train station
  • Diner options for late arrival
  • Free Wifi
  • Air conditioning in the summer etc… If you are familiar with Paris, then you know that air conditioning is an issue in the summer and is considered a luxury here.

Élyzées Plaza Hotel aesthetic

Hotel Plaza Elysées’s facade is of the late nineteenth century and a typical Haussmanian style architecture. In the lobby are hanging two magnificent portraits of Louis XIV and his daughter the Duchess of Bourbon. It is a blend of sophistication and elegance.

Check-in

Ours checking time was planned for 2 pm, however, we were allowed to check in early. If you arrive before your scheduled time feel free to ask if you can check-in early.

Rooms

We stayed in room 30 on the third floor. Our room was pretty big if you compared it to the average hotel rooms in Paris. This room doesn’t have a balcony. Although it is on the street side, quite frankly, at any time did we hear the noise coming from the street.

Nearby attractions

Just because the area is quiet does not mean that you will get bored. Nearby attractions are:

  • Parc Monceau, one of the most beautiful parks in Paris.
  • The Arc de Trionphe a few walk away
  • The prestigious Champs Elysées with its luxurious boutiques
  • La Maison Nordique is a high end gastronomic shop where you can buy some caviar, champagne, lobsters and much more.

Here’s a few posts that you might have missed:

Conclusion

In conclusion, I like the fact that our hotel room was big and that we were nearby major attractions. If you plan to travel to Paris once travel resumes safely, a stay at the Hotel Plaza Elysées might be something to consider.
