Are there graffiti in Paris?

Yes. Urban murals and graffiti are nothing new to Paris. Street art in Paris began to gain prominence in the late 1960s and early 1970s, influenced by the broader global street art movement. This period saw a rise in graffiti and other forms of street expression as a means of political and social commentary. Today, many artists use this art as a way to embellish their neighborhood and showcase their talent.

Although most people don’t think of Paris as a street art capital, in the neighborhoods mentioned below, you can see how street art has become a part of the parisian landscape. Here’s a few locations where you can see some of them:

Most people aren’t aware that 13th arrondissement is the biggest open museum when it comes to street art and graffiti related murals. Just for that reason, whether you are into that kind of thing of not you have to come to Paris just to experience it.
