As a former suburban girl, I think that France as a whole is much more than just Paris. There are lots of small towns and villages that are very accessible by train and even bicycle that need a bit of shine too. Today I would like to tell you guys about my little trip to Herblay-Sur-Seine.

A bit of info about Herblay–Sur-Seine
It is a small town along the Seine River located in the department of Val d’Oise in the Ile de France region. It is about 30 minutes from Paris via the transilien Paris-Saint-Lazare suburban rail line. Visit the town website here.
What to see and do
- Walk along the Seine River
- Visit the city center and its shops
- LEAM which host many culturals events such as concerts, dances, paintings for young ones and their families
- The Ferryman’s House which in French means “La Maison du Passeur”. This old ferryman house has been turned into a bar on the banks of the Seine River. Address; 1 Quai du Genie, Herblay.
- The Roger Barat Theater which hosts many emerging artists and organizes cultual events throuhghout the year.
- I personally used some of my time there just to walk around and look at the country houses.
How to get there?
Transilien line J at the Paris-Saint-Lazare gare station. Get off at Herblay-Sur-Seine. Exit the train station on your right. Cross the street at the light and take the direction toward City Hall.
