I recently received a DM on Instagram from someone asking me if I knew some French platforms that can help her learn French. Upon thnking about it the next day, I reallized that I knew a few platfoms that I use to help my current student. With that question still fresh in my mind, today I have decided to write a blog post on 5 websites that can help you learn French.

If you are wondering about learning French this year, this blog post is for you . Find out about 5 websites that can help you learn or improve your French. As the world has started to reopen and easing up on restrictions after 2 long difficult years, more people would start traveling the world again which means that traveler might want to brush up on their language skills.

Why should you learn French?

French is very useful if you plan to:

  • Visit France or any countries which official language is French
  • To advance your professional career
  • Improve thinking skills
  • Increase attention span
  • For the fun of it
  • If you plan to settle definitely in a French speaking country

When it comes to visiting France, it is always a good idea to know a bit about the language because you will be able to better communicate with locals. I am not saying that you cannot visit France if you don’t have any knowledge of French. I am just saying that knowing a few words or sentences can come in handy just in case you may have an emergency. With that said, let’s dive into today’s post.

Gymglish is a pattform that allows individual to:

Projet Voltaire

Projet Voltaire is considered the top of the top when it comes to French language. It doesn’t come cheap but once you come out of their program, your French should be better than when you started off. It is for people:

  • That already know French and that would like to get a better hold of the language
  • Looking for certification in French

TV5 Monde

TV5 Monde is also a great platform to help you learn French. This TV station is available in many countries around the world. If you live in the US, you can have acess to its TV prgram by subscribing to Cable TV. TV5 Monde is a great tool to:

  • Watch lots of French TV programs
  • Practice your French
  • Hear people speak so that you can hear how the language sounds
  • Improve your pronnounciation
  • Feel like you were in France

If you cannot afford to pay for cable, you will find some great tools as well on their website to help you learn or improve your French.

l’Alliance Française

Just like the Projet Voltaire, it doesn’t come cheap. It is a worlwide recognized institutation and every year people from all over the world try to enter some of their programs. Check to see if there is a one in your country. They offer:

  • A DAEFLE certification program if you are interested in teaching French
  • TEF
  • DELF
  • DALF
  • French classes and worshops
