There are so many European countries to visit, however, for a reason that I cannot quite explain, Paris has been a favorite for many influencers, celebrities, travelers and so forth… From blogs, magazines, Titktok, Instagram and Pinterest just to name a few, there is not a day that goes by without seeing some amazing content around the magic of Paris. In this blog post, I will cover 11 things that you need to remember when visiting Paris.

Paris is the Capital City

Paris is among the 10 biggest cities of France which are:

  • Marseille
  • Lille
  • Toulouse
  • Nice

It is a paradise for luxury and haute couture lovers

When it comes to fashion, Paris is the fashion capital. It is home to some of the world’s biggest luxury brands. Despite the current Covid-19 pandemic going on, the luxury business here in France continues to see big profit margins.

The Eiffel Tower is one of its emblematic monuments

Even if you have never been to Paris, you have most likely seen the Eiffel Tower on TV, movies and on social media. It has been photographed from people from all over the world and I honestly never get tired of seeing it.

It is a melting pot

Contrary to you may have seen on TV, movies or read in the newspapers and magazines, Paris is not as heteregenous that you might think. As a French black woman which ancestors were bought in to work on the plantation fields in the French colonies during the Transatlantic slave trade, I can tell you that Paris is a big melting pot with many non white communities contributing to shaping and diversifying the city.

Sports

Parisian love sports. In France, football is a national sport. Although, there are many athletic clubs thoughout the city offering others sporting options, football is king here. like most big European cities, Paris has its own football club called the Paris Saint Germain or PSG.

Hotels, hostels, appartment rentals, bed and breakfasts

Amonth the 10 things to remember when visiting Paris, keep in mind that when it comes to lodging, there are plenty of options to choose from to fit any budget.

    What a gorgeous city Robbie. I have never visited but my wife loved her time there, over a decade ago. So much life, style and what a dazzling vibe. Truly one of the best cities in the world.

    I have been to Paris before, as a teenager, and I need to admit I do want to go back as soon as possible! We were planning a little trip since we live in London and the connections to Paris are so good, but with the pandemic, everything has gone back to the planning stages. This article makes me want to go even more!
