I often get asked by friends or friends of friends who plan to come to Paris which arrondissement (district) is best to stay in. I think it all depends of what you are looking for and what your budget is. If money is not an issue for you then I will suggest these arrondissements 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14,15 and 16.
The first district attracts lots of tourists because of the Louvre Museum, le Jardin (garden) des Tuileries, fancy shops, private apartments chic hotels and so forth…. During Paris Fashion Week at the garden des Tuileries, you can catch fashion bloggers, influencers, editors, socialites and celebrities coming out of fashion shows and showrooms posing for photographers.
If you want to save money try the 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 18, 19, 20 arrondissements. The 18th outside of Montmartre neighborhood has a lot of negative stigmas attacthed to it (immigrant neighborhood, pooretc… despite newcomers buying properties and moving in. It is a district which has been going through some changes.
