Do you know which district amongst Paris’ 20th districts is the most sought-after?
It comes to no surprise to me because it is my favorite as well. After speaking with a friend from swanky 16th district, one from the 11th district and others from other areas of the city, I understand why the 11th district is the hot spot to be.
Nightlife
There are so many bars, restaurantd, concert halls, theaters and nightclubs that are shaken up the Parisian night life. The Bastille and Oberkampf neighborhoods get really crowded at night as tourists and locals take over the streets to party until the wee hours in the morning.
Its Circus
Since 1852, The Cirque d’Hiver Boulogne has been entertaining young and old ones. Making it one of the oldest running circus in the world.
Coffee Shops and restaurants
There are so many to choose from. However, I love Café Maréva. Located at 38 rue Faubourg du Temple, 75011, they are all about gluten free and lactose free dishes. Try their gluten free pancakes and waffles (pictured above) as well as brunches on weekends. Don’t forget to thank me later.
Its Bobo
What we call here hipsters in the so called “cooler and hip” district of Paris. I spend too much time there for work purposes to know how hip and cool many of its residents are.
Co-working spaces
Need a quiet place to work and meet with clients. One such place that comes to mind is Kiwanda located at 50 rue de Montreuil, 75011 Paris.
Hair dressers
It comes to no surprise that the 11th district is a favorite for young professionals including hair dressers. Baïbaé located in 58 rue Sabin 75011, Paris is a fan favorite even for 4 C naturals like myself. Enjoy relaxing massages as well as their coffee shop while waiting to get your hair done. This place is many things in one so go check it out!
Art galleries/event spaces
Like the Génie Bastille, an open space for up and coming artists to showcase their work to the public. Check out the art galerie Univer/Colette Cola (above) a favorite of mine located at 6 cité de l’ameublement, 75011 Paris.
Its cool and trendy boutiques
Check out Mukasa for its trendy bohemian, ethnic and chic pieces located at 13 rue Oberkampf, 75011 Paris.
